The commercial businesses are usually open between 10:00am and 6:00pm in the downtown "microcentro" area.  However many remain open until 7:00pm and some until 8:00pm.
In the other neighborhoods, some businesses have a split schedule, in which case they are usually open from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
Commercial businesses located on shopping strips or in shopping centers usually have business hours between 10:00am and 10:00pm
Within the city, the diverse commercial zones are clearly identifiable based on the types of products which are commonly sold.

High ticket items: The full length of Av. Alvear--Recoleta.

Antiques: Defensa Street between Independencia and San Juan--San Telmo.
- Watches and Jewelry: Libertad Street from Rivadavia to Plaza Lavalle--Downtown.
- Regional Products: Retiro Neighborhood, Viamonte, Suipacha, M. T. de Alvear, and L. N. Alem Streets--Downtown.

- Leather Coats and Outerwear: Av. Forest 400-500--Chacarita.
- Books and CDs: Av. Corrientes between Av. Callao and Av. L. N. de Alem--Centro.

- Fashion: Av. Cabildo from Virrey del Pino to Blanco Encalada--Belgrano.

Fashion: Galleries of Avenida Santa Fe from Av. Pueyrredón to 9 de Julio.

Economical Fashion: Once neighborhood in the area bordered by Av. Rivadavia, Av. Pueyrredón, Tucumán, and Av. Callao.
